Experience
As a junior in the College of Education, I have completed many hours of field experience in the classroom, ranging from grades 5-10. I have been involved in response to intervention programs for students struggling in social studies courses and English courses, as well as taught a 4-lesson series on writing. I am currently an undergraduate research fellow for Dr. Kimberlee Sharp,conducting a study concerning the use of song lyrics to teach social studies content and literacy skills.I have taken three college courses concerning literacy in the classroom, as well as college courses over chemistry, geology, physics, biology, geography, US history, world history,early world civilizations,American social problems, and astrology. In high school I took 6 AP courses, receiving a 4 or 5 on all tests. I received a 30 on my ACT. I am an active volunteer at the Rock Solid Youth Center in Morehead, KY.
